I know that I’m late posting this entry, but it’s been a bit hectic since returning home from the Bahamas. Right now I’m currently washing clothes so this will be quick.
Our honeymoon was awesome! I was so exhausted on the day we left that I forgot about being nervous on the airplane and fell asleep. Getting to the cruise ship was even more exhausting. We caught the bus to the rapid station, then took the rapid to the airport. After arriving at the airport we went through all the security crap to get to the boarding area. Brian bought me some tea and we shared a whole wheat bagel with eggs and cheese on it. After praying and being nervous through the take off on the plane, I ended up falling asleep and woke up 20 minutes prior to landing in Orlando. We then went to baggage claim, got our luggage and called our shuttle, whom was 45 minutes late picking us up from the airport. After a 50 minute ride to Port Canaveral we then went through more boarding chaos to board the cruise ship. Once on board the cruise ship, the party began and we both were too tired to enjoy it. We were bombarded with 2 alcoholic drinks once entering the ship that were priced at 9.75 per drink. The bartender added extra rum to my drink claiming it would “make me do things to Brian”. Instead we went to our room, dropped off our bags, took a peek at the ocean, ate lunch and went to our rooms to pass out from not only exhaustion, but drunkenness.
The following day was awesome when we visited Cocoa Cay (formerly Berry Island). It was amazing! The food was delicious and we found our own little secluded spot on the island. We then took a trip to Nassau the following day as well as Paradise Island which I didn’t care for too well because it was full of people trying to hustle us. It’s basically a tourist island and everything is over priced and Americanized. The island lacked any Bahamian culture which sent Brian and I running back to the cruise ship.
Overall our honeymoon was fantastic! We ate delicous food in abundance, swam in the ocean, made love on an island paradise, danced in the rain, gazed at the stars in the middle of the Atlantic and more! It was a trip I’d never forget. I’ve already added photos so please be sure to check them out on the Photo Albums page!
